Most questions have a short answer. If yours is not here, write to us and a person will reply.

How do I connect a Gmail account?

Open Mailcomm, choose to add an account, and pick Google. Sign in with the Google account whose mail you want to manage and accept the permissions Google shows you — Mailcomm needs them to read your mail, send on your behalf, and move messages between folders.

If the sign-in sheet closes without connecting, make sure you are signed in to the account you intended, then try again. Google Workspace accounts may additionally need an administrator to allow the app.

How do I connect an Outlook account?

The flow is the same as Gmail: add an account, pick Microsoft, sign in, and accept the permissions. Personal Outlook, Hotmail and Live addresses all work, as do Microsoft 365 work accounts.

Work or school accounts are sometimes locked down by an administrator. If the sign-in ends with a message about your organisation not allowing the app, your IT administrator has to approve it before you can connect.

My notifications are not arriving

Check three things, in this order. First, iOS Settings, then Notifications, then Mailcomm — notifications must be allowed there. Second, Mailcomm's own Settings, then Notifications — they can be switched off per account. Third, any Focus mode you have on, which can silence Mailcomm without telling you.

If all three look right, your mail account may have stopped being connected — providers revoke access after a password change or a long absence. Sign out of the account in Mailcomm and connect it again.

How do I delete my account or my data?

Mailcomm does not collect, log or store your personal information, and there is no Mailcomm account to delete. Your mail stays with Gmail or Outlook.

To disconnect, sign out of the account in Mailcomm's Settings, then remove Mailcomm from the connected apps list in your Google or Microsoft account security settings. Deleting the app from your device removes everything Mailcomm kept on it.

If you have written to us by email and want that correspondence deleted, ask at the address below and we will do it.
